About the event

The Pacific Northwest experiences a diverse range of weather, including significant storms. Have you ever pondered the forces behind these storms and the reasons for the varying weather from one location to another? This distinctive presentation will explore the weather hazards our region faces and provide the latest seasonal weather outlook for the upcoming winter. Will El Niño return, or will La Niña reemerge? Join us for an informative session with veteran National Weather Service meteorologist Ted Buehner to discover all the answers and pose the meteorological questions you've always had.

Registration required.

Ted Buehner, a North Sound Meteorologist, dedicated over 40 years to the National Weather Service (NWS), serving from 1977 until 2018. In his final role as the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the NWS in Seattle, he played a pivotal customer liaison role, striving to improve the comprehensive forecast and warning system. This effort involved integrating the agency's core mission of safeguarding lives and property, as well as boosting the local economy, with the needs of its partners and customers, including emergency managers, media, aviation, hydrology, wildfire management, and the marine sector. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Oregon State University.

Hosted by the Stanwood Library.
