Volunteer Positions Available
We are in need of a dentist to volunteer up to 6 hours of their time a month. It would be volunteering here at the Community Resource Center with Medical Teams International. One day a month, based on your schedule. We would like to be able to have the Clinic here every month but it is dependent on having a volunteer dentist. If you are only available every other month or 3 months in the winter, or 2 days a year, please get in touch.
Babysitter Class instructor - Position Filled
Training and materials are all provided, schedule is set to your schedule. These classes are approximately 6 hours total in time. You will be working with teenagers teaching them the basics of babysitting with hands on experience through one of our events that needs baby sisters. They will also be taught CPR and first aid by a certified instructor.
Community Laundry Outreach
There are three primary roles:
Check in: greeting guests and helping them sign in.
Laundry Monitor: Loading the quarters and following up with guests that they rotate their laundry.
Guest Relations: visiting with guests to get to know them and listen to their stories and hear if there are any resources we can provide.
Will be Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 every week, volunteers are asked to commit to twice a month

Sewing Class Instructor Assistant ~ Position FILLED
This position is part time, 3 hours a week for 6 weeks at a time. Classes are generally offered once a quarter. You would be working with two other volunteers to teach a sewing class to 4th – 12th graders. Basic sewing skills and knowledge of sewing machines are helpful.
Weekly position 3 hours a week, working with grades 4th – 12th helping with home work. You do not need to be exceptionally good at math or social studies, just be good at supporting and encouraging the teens.
Weekly position for 3 hours a week working in the used bookstore. Helping to process the books that come in. Including sorting and cleaning all of the books and getting them ready for inventory into the computer and to be shelved onto the shelves. Customer service, helping customers to find the books they would like and selling the books to them.
Days and hours vary and are to your schedule. Looking for a volunteer to mow the grass and trim the edges and help with some of the weeding. Not in the vegetable garden area but in the landscaped areas.
Bookstore Manager ~ Position FILLED
This position is 5 hours a week and entails keeping track of books coming in and deciding where the focus needs to be for the week as far as which sections the volunteers need to work on filling or cleaning out. Decides when and what is on sale and what the major displays will be.
This is working with youth on the guitars. Class times and days vary depending on volunteers schedule.
Ready To Work Mentor
Working one on one with teens or with a young adult with disabilities in a 6 week program. Part of the program is working on the computer learning how to find job applications and to fill them out. Building a resume and writing cover letters and thank you letters. The second part of the job is assisting the student who will be working hands on in the bookstore. Sorting and cleaning books, doing inventory, working on the computer and customer service helping customers. All training is provided days and time arranged with your schedule and the students.
We have opportunities for teens to complete community service requirements for school and courts. We also limited opportunities for adults who need to complete community service (a background check is required and crimes against people will automatically exclude you).
